defining moments

have you ever had one of those moments? the kind that changes the way you think?

i just had one.

i've been working with some new types of lighting and am really loving the things i can do and control with a little bit of know-how and elbow grease.

i was just thinking about a shoot i'm doing on friday and how i need to go scout a locale for it and i realized that i have a whole world of locations open to me now because i've decided to learn better lighting practices. and i literally thought in my head. wow i can see locations in a whole new light.

corney i know, but it's true. with a little knowledge and practice i can do a whole new slew of things and can see my surroundings again in a new light.

it's kind of like when you've been working on your math homework all day and then the equation finally clicks and everything seems so clear and obvious.

i really do like my job.
